SALARY: $75,400 - $106,277 per annum

DUTIES
The Manager, Academic Quality (AQ) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) reports to the Director, Centre for Learning and Program Excellence, leading quality assurance practices and systems to ensure the College is recognized in Manitoba and beyond as a leader in quality and excellence in program design and delivery, and RPL. Leading a team responsible for academic quality, RPL and academic integrity, the Manager oversees the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and expansion of programs, services and initiatives that support faculty, staff and, ultimately, students.
The Manager, Academic Quality (AQ) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) reports to the Director, Centre for Learning and Program Excellence, leading quality assurance practices and systems to ensure the College is recognized in Manitoba and beyond as a leader in quality and excellence in program design and delivery, and RPL. Leading a team responsible for academic quality, RPL and academic integrity, the Manager oversees the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and expansion of programs, services and initiatives that support faculty, staff and, ultimately, students.
The Manager collaborates with faculty, staff and other internal and external stakeholders to stay up to date on needs within the college and trends across the field of academic quality. The Manager works in partnership with academic schools and other College departments to help build capacity for prior learning practices and services for programs across the College, including transfer of credit and articulation agreements. The Manager also actively pursues and promotes partnerships and projects with external stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master of Education degree (M.Ed). A combination of equivalent education and experience in the field of post secondary education, prior learning, assessment or a related subject may be considered
- Several years of related work experience in an educational institution, preferably at the post-secondary level
- Several years of experience with quality assurance in curriculum development and design
- Experience in leading and managing small to medium-sized projects
- Organizational leadership skills to grow, foster and support strong and collaborative teams
- Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, lead and motivate staff and create a positive work environment
- Organization and time management skills to respond effectively to multiple demands
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to synthesize and critically appraise information from a wide variety of sources
- Well-developed problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to deal with concerns and conflict resolution among team members, staff/instructors and students in an appropriate, professional, and constructive manner
- A high capacity for objectivity, fairness, impartiality, flexibility, without compromising standards and policies
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to proactively seek out and develop strategic partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, effectively build relationships, maintain communities of practice that support student success
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and capable of independent decision making when working to meet numerous conflicting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-disciplinary teams
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
