Duties:
The Director of Corporate Communications leads the development and delivery of strategic communications for the organization. The Director provides advice to senior leadership, manages media relations, and leads the development, coordination and implementation of Corporate Communications. Key responsibilities include strategic communication planning, executive messaging, speechwriting, presentation development, website content, social media management and strategic awareness, and outreach implementation. This position ensures communications align with departmental priorities and government mandates.
Qualifications:

Essential: 
  • Post-secondary degree in communications, social services or other relevant field with direct experience in the areas of communications, (journalism, creative communications, public relations, or creative arts), or public education. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in creating communication strategies and plans, including multimedia and public education, and implementing communication related activities and initiatives.
  • Experience developing corporate publications and materials such as executive communications, articles, materials news releases, speeches, presentations.
  • Exceptional written skills with experience managing internal and external communications, including web content and stakeholder messaging.
  • Experiencing supervising staff and may lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong political acumen with proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information using sound judgment, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external people, groups, and organizations.

Desired: 
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X and Youtube would be an asset.
