Introduction
The Immigration Division contributes to economic growth and strong communities through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program and working with partners to promote the province as a destination of choice for international talent to study, work, and live. It designs and administers the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program – an economic immigration program focused on the skill and talent needs of Manitoba’s employers and communities – and supports social and economic integration and career development of newcomers through settlement supports and coordinated immigrant labour market services.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Post-secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration or the Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience
Experience working with federal and provincial immigration systems
Experience undertaking research, analysis, and assessment of policies and/or programs, verifying information and making recommendations based on policy, program criteria, goals and/or objectives
Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
Experience interpreting, explaining and applying policies, procedures, statutes, and/or regulations to a variety of interest groups
Excellent verbal communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to clearly present complex issues to a variety of audiences
Excellent written communication skills in both French and English for preparing detailed analytical or assessment reports
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner
Duties:
The incumbent’s primary role is the assessment of the immigration application using the defined policy and procedures to determine the demonstrated ability to make significant and long-term contributions to the Manitoba economy.
