As a young and growing not-for-profit organization, we are looking to hire for one new position as Loans Account Manager for a satellite office in Thompson, Manitoba.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

You will report to the Senior Loans Manager and be responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of successful business clients. You will work independently in the Thompson office and be supported by the Winnipeg administrative team and senior management, as you interact with and create relationships with clients from the application stage right through to the loan approval to post loan monitoring and follow-up stage. You will determine credit eligibility, perform detailed research and due diligence, prepare commercial loan submissions, and make presentations to the CEO and Board, as required. You will also from time to time be required to travel throughout Manitoba to visit clients, perform site visits and teamwork with the Winnipeg office.

Who You Are:

  • 1-3 years' experience in personal, business, commercial, and/or developmental lending or post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or First Nation Studies, or a combination of these.
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and understand financial statements and business plans.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in managing loan portfolios, including follow-up on problem loans and collections.
  • Relationship-building skills to develop and maintain business and community networks.
  • Ability to identify client needs through proactive research.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Dependable, adaptable, reliable, honest, and a quick learner.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
 

You Might Even Have:

  • Ability to speak a First Nation language.
  • Knowledge and experience with the First Nations business community in Manitoba.
  • Experience in small business management, development, and/or counseling.
  • Understanding of First Nation communities and organizations.
