POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated November 18, 2024 up to January 30, 2026) 
 
SALARY: $33.62 - $51.43 hourly

 *The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

ELIGIBILITY LIST: This competition may be used to establish a 6 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies.
 
DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, the Instructor will be responsible to deliver a hybrid model for the Human Resources Management Certificate. This position will require the instructor to travel out of province a minimum of 4 times during the delivery of the program. The Instructor will follow curriculum as directed by the academic Chair. Duties include but are not limited to: maintaining student records, classroom management, student evaluation, marking and grade submission, and adapting curriculum to a hybrid model. The incumbent will join a nimble and responsive team focused on creating customized training solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, clients and stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a passion for supporting adult learning, strong communication skills and experience teaching in a blended environment and have a commitment to their own lifelong learning. 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in varying Human Resource Management roles and environments
  • Experience training, mentoring, and/or coaching adult learners
  • Student focused and person-centered approach to instruction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills for both in-person delivery and virtual delivery
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with current learning tools and technologies associated with course delivery
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to create a positive classroom environment for diverse learners with a commitment to student success
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (ex. D2L)
  • Training and Experience working with Indigenous Communities
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-Identifies as Indigenous
  • CHRM Designation in good standing
  • Teaching for Learning Certificate or equivalent Adult Education certification
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level in person and/or online
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work overtime
  • This position may be required to travel
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • This position will be required to travel and fly domestically
