SALARY: $51,573 - $72,573 per annum
POSITION LOCATION: Urban Circle (519 Selkirk Ave. Winnipeg, MB)

Reporting to the Chair of Early Childhood Education, the Educational Assistant will support the Urban Circle Early Childhood Education program. This is a community program delivered at Urban Circle Training Center. Duties include supporting students in the classroom and scheduled office hours to provide support to students outside of the classroom. The EA may assist with instruction, which may include explaining or demonstrating concepts, clarifying subject areas and the provision of academic supports. The successful candidate will also participate in meetings, activities, and the evolution of curriculum to meet student and program needs. The EA will possess a strong work ethic, problem solving skills, teamwork, collaboration, and people skills. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Indigenous ways of learning and have prior experience working with Indigenous learners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in early childhood education; Minimum ECE II
- Recent experience working in a childcare centre or community-based agency
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- High-level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to support conflict resolution, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience delivering academic support, mentorship, tutoring, and/or practicum supervision
- Experience working with Indigenous, Newcomer, and/or Refugee learners
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
