POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available  
 
SALARY: $68,556 - $96,644 per annum

DUTIES
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the Facility Management department, the Technical Officer (Architectural) is responsible to simultaneously plan, develop, and deliver projects ranging from small to multimillion-dollar projects. The Technical Officer manages all phases of projects including planning, design, tender, construction, occupancy, and project closeout.
In addition to project management, the Technical Officer provides internal consulting services, technical support, manages daily operations, schedules maintenance, and manages contractors to ensure that they follow Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, as well as Red River College Polytechnic’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Architect, or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)/ Certified Technician (C.Tech)/ Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T), or B.Env.D with degree/ diploma in a relevant program. An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering interior design and construction and projects, including developing RFP/RFQ’s and the scope of work
  • Significant experience in planning and managing projects for building envelope, architectural and/or structural
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes, practices and materials with regards to building design and construction
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize workload
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service skills 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in architecture, or diploma in civil/structural/architectural/building engineering technology
  • Demonstrated experience working in Facility Management in an institutional environment
  • Experience using Project Management software

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work overtime
  • This position may be required to travel
  • This position is subject to audiometric assessments 
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
  • Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
