As a Specialized Foster Parent, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and supportive home environment where children and youth can thrive. Additionally, you will supervise support and respite staff to ensure the highest quality of care is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the child in your care.
- Document and report critical incidents, maintaining accurate records.
- Create a supportive home environment that encourages participation of children and youth, including those with high-risk behaviors.
- Support the interests and goals of children and youth in the home.
- Ensure a stable, supportive home for children and youth.
- Provide non-judgmental, safe, and caring support.
- Perform general household duties, such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
- Supervise daily activities, including meals, chores, and recreational outings
- Supervise support and respite staff, ensuring adherence to Agency policies.
- Collaborate with other staff members and professionals for the holistic well-being of children and youth.
- Maintain required documentation and reports according to Agency policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience caring for children and youth with complex behavioral, emotional, or developmental needs.
- Ability to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment.
- Skilled in managing crises and responding to emergencies involving at-risk youth.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with $2,000,000 liability coverage and access to a reliable vehicle.
