POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated July 7, 2025 up to December 19, 2025) 
 
SALARY: $33.62 - $51.43 hourly
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of Graphic Design, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for  Digital Production. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are digital file management and workflow optimization within a macOS environment; advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat; and the preparation of professional, vendor-ready print production files. Emphasis is placed on precision in vector illustration, multi-page layout design, brochure development, and the selection and management of spot colours. Instruction also covers typographic and production terminology, equipping students with the industry-standard language and skills necessary for effective communication and execution in print environments. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Print Technology or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Extensive experience in digital print production within a professional graphic design or prepress environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Extensive experience in Adobe Creative Suite and working in a MacOS environment
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
  • Experience as an Educational Assistant in a post-secondary setting
  • Proven ability to teach, mentor, or guide junior designers or students in production best practices
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
