Introduction
The Archives of Manitoba is a central government agency with a dual mandate under The Archives and Recordkeeping Act to promote and facilitate good recordkeeping in government and to provide for the identification and preservation of records of enduring value to government and the citizens of Manitoba.

Qualifications:
Essential:
University graduate degree in archival studies or a related discipline. A combination of graduate education and experience in archives, or a related field such as records and information management may be considered.
Experience working as an archivist, records analyst or records manager, preferably in a government setting or other public sector organization.
Experience with appraisal and description of records.
Experience working with digital records.
Ability to work independently.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Efficient written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients with tact and diplomacy.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Senior Archivist, Government and Private Sector Archives, the position assists in the administration of archival records by participating in activities contributing to the appraisal, acquisition, control, description, access and preservation of the holdings. The incumbent will be expected to provide a high level of service to a wide range of archival clients, including members of the public and government employees. The incumbent will also contribute to team projects and initiatives that support the full range of activities at the Archives of Manitoba.
