SALARY: $62,462 - $88,108 per annum

DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the efficient and sustainable operation of all building systems to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for staff, students, and guests at the Exchange District Campus, Portage la Prairie Campus, and Stevenson Campus. Operating in compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations, the Maintenance Engineer oversees all work performed by RRC Polytech pre-approved vendors and their sub-trades within their assigned facilities. Responsibilities include ensuring that preventive maintenance, as well as annual and semi-annual inspections and servicing, are completed for all heating, cooling, electrical, fire alarm, and backup generator systems.

The incumbent of this position will be required to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on-call as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Red Seal HVAC Technician Journey person's accreditation, or a 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer certificate
- Several years’ experience in a building operations environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the areas of mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and painting
- Capable of multi-tasking and providing direction to various trade groups without overlap or confusion
- Superior customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with Preventative Maintenance Scheduling
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Good knowledge of safe work procedures as defined in the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations (W210)
- Effective conflict resolution, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with the use of MS Office products
- Training in safety procedures
- Experience with the use of Alerton DDC or Other building control related Software
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
- This position may be required to work overtime
- This position is subject to audiometric assessments
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
