Applied Computer Education Entrepreneur in Residence
 
POSITION TYPE: 2 Full-Time, Term Positions Available (anticipated July 9, 2025 up to March 31, 2026) 
 
SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES
Reporting into the Chair of Entrepreneur in Resident, the Instructor(s) will deliver both online and on-campus curriculum and facilitate student projects at the Applied Computer Education ACE project space. Mentor students on project related to artificial intelligence, application development, web development, DevOps, innovation projects, game development and cloud computing. Duties will include delivering workshops to students, collaborating with others, and engaging students to create meaningful applied learning opportunities. Successful candidates will also contribute to the learning environment of the department by committing to ongoing professional development to stay current with industry practices, supporting the learning of peers, and participating in departmental and College projects or committees. Solid technical expertise paired with strong communication and intercultural skills are required to inspire students in a blended learning environment. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. The instructor will identify opportunities for process improvements, promote a collaborative, inclusive environment conducive to student experience and is committed to Truth and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion which is evident in all aspects of the decisions and interactions with others. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities. Both Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Information Technology Diploma or equivalent; a combination of education and recent, relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in project or service delivery
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence 
  • Experience with prototyping and IT product development
  • Experience with User Experience and User Interface philosophies and practices.
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcome
  • Experience with Agile Project Management
  • Experience supporting research grants
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with virtual or augmented reality
  • Experience with Design Thinking and Innovation best practices
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
