SALARY: $51,573 - $72,573 per annum

DUTIES
This position reports directly to the Chair, Collision and Modified Apprenticeship Programs. The successful candidate will provide equipment maintenance, general guidance and technical assistance to students in the Collision and Modified Apprenticeship Programs labs/shops. The incumbent will also set up equipment before classes begin and remove and store equipment after classes. They will maintain an inventory of equipment and materials/supplies and will be required to maintain Health & Safety policies and procedures throughout the areas. They will be responsible for monitoring work orders as well as assisting in purchasing shop inventory, assisting in tool control and aiding in the maintenance/repair/development of training aids. The successful candidate should also be able to lift 50 lbs and eligible to obtain a Forklift Operators/trainers certification and Standard First Aid Training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid journeyperson's certificate in any of the following trades: Automotive Body Repair & Refinishing certification, Automotive painting, and experience working within the trade. An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Automotive Body Repair & Refinishing certification;
- Relevant experience working within the trades post-attainment of certification
- Current training and experience in the latest body repair & refinishing techniques
- Knowledge and practical experience in the application of waterborne undercoat and topcoats
- Experience in Microsoft Suite programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes, and able to work in a team environment
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Current training and experience with resistant welding and aluminum repair procedures
- Individual or platinum ICAR status
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
