SALARY: $62,337 - $87,859 per annum
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

We are seeking an EAL Specialist to join our Academic Success Centre who will deliver comprehensive assistance to our college programs and faculty, while playing an essential role in enhancing the academic journey of students at RRC Polytechnic. As an integral member of our team, the EAL Specialist will conduct insightful analysis, extend dedicated outreach initiatives, and provide proficient English as an Additional Language (EAL) services to the students of RRC Polytech. Additionally, the EAL Specialist will devise effective strategies to address the escalating EAL learning and instructional needs, as conveyed by our staff and students in College programs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor of Education degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience in the field of education or a related subject may be considered
- Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) or equivalent education and experience in the domain of EAL or communication required
- Experience in conducting instruction specifically designed for EAL learners, where language and study skills are tailored to meet the demands of post-secondary education programs
- Experience in assessment of learner needs related to language and academic skills in a post-secondary environment
- Experience in catering to the unique needs of EAL students, providing both individualized tutoring and dynamic group learning environments
- Experience in the creation and implementation of EAL programs and resources, contributing to the overall success of EAL education
- Understanding of administering student evaluations to pinpoint areas requiring academic language assistance
- Demonstrated ability to research adult EAL education topics, trends or resources related to EAL supports and student success in a post-secondary environment
- Ability to effectively promote and raise awareness of student focused programming.
- Experience in being a liaison between student needs and relevant stakeholders
- Proficiency in preparing written reports, documents or promotional materials using modern technology and mainstream audio-video formats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads
- Must possess superior interpersonal communication skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
