JOB OPPORTUNITY
REQUIRES: Full-Time Permanent Child & Family Service Worker
LOCATION: Winnipeg Sub-Office, 4th Floor, 820 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba
The Child & Family Service Worker will work as a team member for the protection and care of children by addressing the prevention, awareness and education of child abuse and neglect.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Responsible for the care management of children in care and family services files by complying with the Child & Family Services Act and Program Standards.
· Assess Family functioning and risk factors to children’s safety and implement intervention plans to address the child protection and family support issues and permanency planning.
· To work cooperatively and effectively with other resource workers, including those in the field of education, community health, recreation, alcohol and drug abuse and prevention, social assistance, family court and other Child & Family Services to strengthen and unify children and families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BSW Degree or combination of education & training in social sciences.
· Knowledge of Social Work, Child Welfare, Manitoba CFS Act, Program Standards and Aboriginal Justice Inquiry-Child Welfare Initiative.
· Ability and experience working effectively within a team environment and independently
· Excellent interpersonal skills, such as verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work overtime hours,
· Ability to travel
· Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

SALARY: To commensurate with Education and Experience
Classification: SP Series
Salary Range: 22.16 to 37.15 per hour
