DUTIES
UCN requires casual instructors to deliver the Educational Assistant Certificate program courses in Cross Lake, MB. In addition to teaching duties, the instructors will be responsible for classroom management, student supervision and advising, tutoring, maintenance of student records and grades, curriculum review/development, and other administrative tasks. Classes will be delivered face to face and will run from October 28, 2025, to May 28, 2027.  Classes will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and one Saturday per month from 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.  See schedule for course hours, including prep time/wrap-up, etc. Please review schedule and courses on the second page and identify the courses you are qualified to teach in your cover letter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Education Degree; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Experience working in a K-12 school system
• Experience supervising Educational  Assistants in the classroom
• Experience supervising or managing a classroom
• Ability to understand and deal with issues specific to Indigenous learners and mature students in northern Manitoba
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and learning technologies
• Ability to work independently and proceed with goals of the program
• Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS
• Ability to speak an Indigenous language
• Post-Secondary or Adult Education experience (teaching, mentoring or supervising student placements)
• Experience working in northern Manitoba communities

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Availability to work evenings and weekend as required
• Hold a permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate 
• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
