Instructor, Adult Learning Centre (Term Part-Time)
Steinbach Campus
 
POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 6, 2026, up to June 19, 2026) 
 
SALARY: $33.62 - $51.43 hourly
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES
Red River College Polytechnic, Steinbach Campus, requires an Adult Learning Center Instructor for the Mature High School Diploma program teaching Biology 30S & 40S and Chemistry 30S & 40S, which includes supervision, and guidance in a classroom setting. This will include maintaining student records, student evaluation, ensuring provincial curriculum content is met, developing assessments consistent with Provincial learning outcomes, being available according to a preset schedule, and attendance at scheduled meetings. This position is for an evening online instructor.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Education
  • Several years teaching experience in high school sciences (Chemistry & Biology)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Excellent presentation skills which include the use of technology
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous)instruction
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • Incumbent must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
