  • Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
  • Weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Job Overview:  Peguis Child and Family Services is seeking Respite Workers to support children and youth in our Resource Homes, especially those with high-risk needs. You'll work in collaboration with Specialized Foster Parents, providing overnight supervision and care.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Be a compassionate and reliable role model
  • Supervise and care for children overnight
  • Respond to crises calmly and effectively
  • Support children with daily routines (e.g. hygiene, meals)
  • Perform household tasks (e.g. cleaning, laundry, cooking)
  • Escort children to appointments or activities
  • Administer medication as needed
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children/youth in care or high-risk environments
  • Valid First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license and access to insured vehicle ($2M liability coverage)
  • Ability to work overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must pass the following checks before employment:
    •  Criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search)
    • Child Abuse Registry check
    • Adult Abuse Registry check
