POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 5, 2026 up to April 30, 2026)
SALARY: $65,109 - $102,091 per annum*
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $3,000 or $6,000 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

Reporting to the Chair of Life Sciences, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor to deliver a number of courses within the Science Laboratory Technology, Pharmaceutical and Food Manufacturing Programs. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Food Processing. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably majoring in chemistry or biology or a related field
- Experience teaching subjects in the field of science, such as chemistry, biology and biochemistry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot standard laboratory instrumentation
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Experience conducting applied research, either as part of the curriculum or independent of the curriculum, such as STAR projects
- PhD or MSc preferably majoring in chemistry or biology or a related field
- Previous experience in a science or technology-based industry
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
