We are seeking a Transformer Equipment Support Team Lead to join our Maintenance & Operations Engineering Support (MOES) Department. Under the general direction of the Section Head of MOES Electrical Section A, will lead the Transformer Equipment Support Team providing technical expertise for the operation, repair, and maintenance of transformer equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction and support to engineering workgroups, technicians and personnel for the operation, maintenance, repair and commissioning of transformer equipment.
 - Lead, mentor, train, and develop team members to become well-versed technical experts in transformers and related equipment.
 - Identify and implement reliability and efficiency improvements as well as cost saving initiatives with respect to historical processes pertaining to the transformers and related equipment, such as automated information collection processes and service agreements.
 - Identify the root cause of transformer equipment failures.
 - Provide definitive recommendations and risk-based analysis to the Asset Owner regarding failure remediation including but not limited to; operate with failure, repair, replace.
 - Interface with designers, maintainers, manufacturers, and other industry specialists to further Manitoba Hydro's expertise with respect to transformers and related assets to improve efficient and reliable use of the corporation's key assets.
 - Provide review of technical specifications and design reports with respect to transformers and related equipment to ensure quality standard is achieved and design requirements are met.
 
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in the design, operation and maintenance of transformer equipment including two years of supervisory experience.
 - Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
 - Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time).
 - Proven mentorship abilities.
 - Experience in developing maintenance standards and strategies based on industry best practices and/or RCM methodologies.
 - Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviours.
 - Familiar with asset management principles.
 - Familiar with Matlab, PSCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
 - Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence.
 
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $51.34-$70.34 Hourly, $98,380.88-$134,784.78 Annually.
