DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager of Learning Technologies and Educational Development in the Centre for Learning and Program Excellence (CLPE) at Red River College Polytechnic, the Supervisor, Audio Visual Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Audio Visual Services and provides hands-on leadership to a team of four AV Technicians. This position oversees the design, installation, support, and maintenance of classroom, meeting, and event space AV systems across all RRC Polytech campuses. The incumbent plays a key leadership role in guiding, mentoring, and developing team members while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Certificate in media technology, electrical systems, IT/networking, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Extensive experience in the AV industry installing, maintaining, and supporting equipment like projectors, displays, video cameras, microphones, and in-ceiling audio systems
- Experience supervising, coaching, and mentoring a diverse technical team
- Manitoba Class M Voice, Data, Video cable installer limited electrician’s license, or eligible to receive one within 6 months
- Experience gathering and developing business and IT requirements to establish and execute AV designs and project plans
- Ability to create and read basic CAD elevations, floor plan, signal flow and ladder drawings for AV installations.
- Experience with basic programming of AV control systems (e.g., Extron, Crestron, QSC)
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management and the ability to manage multiple projects and schedules with conflicting deadlines
- Experience preparing and managing budgets, and coordinating procurement, inventory control, and lifecycle management of AV equipment and supplies
- Experience organizing and maintaining a workshop and supplies inventory
- Ability to take initiative, work efficiently, and prioritize tasks while exercising reasonable judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience installing and supporting audio visual equipment in an academic or institutional setting
- Successful completion of AVIXA “Quick Start to the AV Industry” and “Essentials of AV Technology” online training
- Certification or coursework in leadership, supervision, or project management (e.g., AVIXA CTS, PMP, or equivalent)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to travel
- This position may be required to work overtime
- Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
- Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds.
