POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 5, 2026 up to January 3, 2027)
SALARY: $34.54 - $54.16 hourly*
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $3,000 or $6,000 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

Reporting to the Chair, Construction and Technology Solutions, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Building Code Part 3: Large Buildings and Complex Buildings. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary credential in architecture, engineering, building technology, or construction management, or equivalent education and experience related to Part 3 of the Building Code
- Significant experience working within the building design, construction, or inspection sector and/or applying Part 3 of the Building Code in professional practice
- Experience delivering instruction or training in a classroom or industry setting, with strong ability to explain complex building code concepts clearly
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
