Introduction
The Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessmess is seekling a qualified candidate for the role of Project Manager.

Duties:
The Project Manager leads the planning and implementation of provincial projects and initiatives that support the strategic priorities and system performance of the Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness working within the Planning and Performance – Indigenous Engagement and Relations Branch. The Project Manager leads complex, high profile department wide mental health, addictions and homelessness focused, continuous improvement projects from initiation through to planning, execution, and ultimately to project closure, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve project success.  
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Post-secondary education, masters preferred, in Health, Social Sciences, Public Administration or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Significant work experience in researching, developing and analyzing policy and/or projects.
  • Strong understanding and experience in project management, change management principles and methodologies and their application on project/program delivery. 
  • Experience leading strategic projects and initiatives related to addictions, mental health, and homelessness.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups such as health authorities, community organizations, Indigenous led organisations, at the senior management level.
  • Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills to lead meetings and provide updates to a variety of audiences both formally and informally. 
  • Strong written communication skills to produce complex and various written documents for a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
  • Strong political acumen to navigate sensitive subject matter among various stakeholders with differing positions and interests to Senior Leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex project-related issues, mitigate risks and provide sound recommendations. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Experience supervising staff including providing direction, monitoring performance, coaching/mentoring, and participating in recruitment and selection.

Desired:
  • Experience in mental health and addictions policy and program development preferably in public service and/or in community and clinical/institutional settings.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of reconciliation and the ability to build relationships with Indigenous peoples, communities and organizations.
