Electrical Engineering Technology Year One, Electronic Engineering
 
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available  
 
SALARY: $52,988 - $74,570 per annum

POSITION LOCATION: Exchange District Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Reporting directly to the Chair of Electrical Engineering Technology Year One, Electronic Engineering Technology, the Educational Assistant will provide support to the Electronic, Electrical and Instrumentation labs. Will assist core area instructors and providing equipment maintenance. Organize labs: regular maintenance of lab equipment (includes oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.) Provide support to instructors in the preparation of labs, purchasing electronic, electrical and mechanical components and equipment.  Assist instructors in the delivery of labs and classes and invigilating exams. May be required to transport equipment and install various lab equipment at Notre Dame Campus and Exchange District Campuses.  May be required to work offsite to promote the RRCP programs. 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Several years of industry experience
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic circuits
  • Experience related to calibrating, using, and repairing electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Experience with workshop and hand tools
  • Experience soldering electronic devices
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications related to the industry
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in drafting and simulation software
  • Experience developing safe work procedures
  • Experience working on applied research projects
  • Experience in curriculum and/or program development
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
