DUTIES
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Enterprise Architect -Enterprise Systems is a senior technical leader responsible for developing innovative, effective, enterprise-wide solutions that address most complex challenges across the institution. This role offers a whole-enterprise view of the Polytech’s digital environment, systems, data, and processes, to create novel approaches and solutions that apply our digital assets to redefine operations and influence institutional change. Combining broad technical expertise, rich methodology knowledge, and strong business acumen, the Enterprise Architect – Enterprise Systems bridges technical and business domains to lead enterprise technology planning, solution design, and implementation in alignment with strategic goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that shows a breadth and depth of technical knowledge
- The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) Certification
- Extensive experience that shows a breath of technical leadership related to enterprise systems design and development, including experience in an IT Architecture role. A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Advanced fluency in tools, methods, practices, and approaches in the field of IT Architecture and understanding of methodologies that intersect IT Architecture: Project Management (PMI, Prince2 or others); Change Management (PROCSI, ACMP); Business Analysis (IIBA); IT Service Management (ITIL)
- Technical knowledge, including technologies, patterns, frameworks, and methods to support enterprise and solution architecture that demonstrates advanced proficiency related to Enterprise Systems
- Understanding of the principles of effective team leadership and mentoring to help build highly effective teams and advance the skills of team members
- Knowledge of applied Project Management practices including principles of resource management in a project-based environment to effectively participate in project leadership for large, enterprise class projects, and organize and direct teams to execute work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to creatively, clearly, and concisely communicate complex and nuanced concepts to all levels from technical audiences to leaders including senior leadership
- Strong emotional intelligence and political acumen to help navigate nuanced, complex, often challenging and sensitive relationships and situations
- Expert level analytical and critical thinking skills to assess complex, enterprise level problems and opportunities, summarize key findings, and provide recommendations
- Ability to create relationships and build trust with stakeholders, including senior leaders, quickly to effectively and efficiently elicit information, build understanding, and provide advice
- Several years of experience in mentorship and coaching of technical staff
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced certifications related to systems design and development and/or in multiple technology domains and related certifications in Analytics, Project management, IT Architecture, IT Service management
- Other advanced education related to information technology, engineering, or business administration
- Knowledge of Post-Secondary Education operations and Public Sector Government relations
- Experience in student information systems, strategic enrolment management, and related processes
- Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and related systems
