DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Systems, the Senior Infrastructure Support Specialist is a senior technology expert who plans, designs, builds, administers, maintains, supports, and secures the Polytechnic’s IT Infrastructure and services assigned to them within Infrastructure Systems portfolio. This includes cloud service delivery solutions; servers and storage; virtualization; enterprise communication; identity and access services. This position will also be responsible for the Polytech’s security and life safety systems including the video monitoring hardware and related software, security cameras and access control systems. This position is the top level of escalation for enterprise IT infrastructure and the most senior technical specialist charged with the effective operations of these enterprise systems. They ensure reliability, efficacy, efficiency, redundancy, resiliency, and security of the technology on which the Polytechnic’s digital work environments run.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in a related field such as computer science, or a diploma in information technology with specific applicability to enterprise information technology infrastructure
- Advanced 5 years experience in enterprise IT Infrastructure and Services security measures, practices, and compliance monitoring
- Expert understanding of enterprise level cloud and on-premises account management technologies to design solutions for scalability, performance, maintainability, flexibility, availability, reliability, and security
- Expert understanding of cloud, hybrid-cloud and server infrastructure concepts to implement sophisticated enterprise level infrastructure solutions including designing enterprise infrastructure systems for reliability and recovery to ensure minimal downtime and data loss
- Previous work in security systems, system integration, or surveillance deployments
- Applied Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Understanding of team leadership, mentorship, and coaching to elevate the capabilities of Support Specialists and junior members
- Knowledge of vendor management practices and approaches to manage relationships and engage support services from vendors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to creatively, clearly, and concisely communicate complex and nuanced concepts to all levels from technical audiences to leaders
- Excellent written communication to create advanced technical documentation and directions for others to follow and communicate complex data and technical concepts to leaders for decision making
- Expert analytical and critical thinking skills to assess challenging problems and strategic opportunities within the team’s portfolio, summarize key findings, deliver reports, and provide recommendations
- Proficiency cultivating trust with clients and stakeholders to establish effective relationships
- 3+ years experience in a large organization designing, building, administering, and maintaining cloud, hybrid-cloud and server infrastructure systems as part of a team
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert (MCSA/MCSE)
- Related certifications in Change Management, Project management, IT Service management (ITIL)
- Knowledge of security cameras and door access systems
- Knowledge of video security software such as Milestone Systems
- Experience with general retail POS systems
