Duties:
Under the direction of the Park District Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the day to day financial operation of the Kiche` Manitou Campground Office located in Spruce Woods Provincial Park. The incumbent is also responsible for the supervision of Park Attendants (KA2), Labourers and Green Team assigned to the area.The incumbent is responsible to perform and supervise some janitorial services. Time management, record keeping and report writing as well as a thorough knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety are an important aspect of the incumbent’s knowledge and abilities. Accuracy and accountability regarding revenues and permits received and disbursed will be paramount. A thorough knowledge of the on-line computer reservation system is required. Incumbent must be flexible in providing janitorial services within the assigned area when required. Incumbent must be able to function in a team environment. Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the above duties. Will be required to work shifts and weekends as per schedule and will be required to work alone.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience supervising staff including scheduling, training and performance management.
Experience providing customer service and/or working in the hospitality industry.
Experience handling cash, debit and credit card payments, balancing cash outs and making deposits.
Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with the public and staff, including handling stressful situations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively under minimal supervision.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to complete and maintain accurate records and reports in a time sensitive environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) or other comparable office suite.
Desired:
Experience performing janitorial duties and grounds maintenance.
Knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent from another jurisdiction.
Must be willing and able to work statutory holidays, weekends and evenings.
Must be willing and physically able to perform the duties of the position including working in various types of outdoor conditions, twisting, standing, lifting & moving items.
Must be willing and able to follow all work safety guidelines and wear any required personal protective equipment.
