Summary

The Indigenous Student Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for promoting NETES college-level training programs and recruiting prospective students from Indigenous communities. This position requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, communities, and organizations, and a commitment to building respectful, long-term relationships.

The coordinator will promote NETES at community events, partner organizations, career fairs, schools, and other outreach opportunities to connect with potential students and share information about training and supports available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote NETES, college and training programs to prospective Indigenous students.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, employment centres, and partner agencies.
  • Attend and represent NETES at community events, career fairs, open houses, and outreach activities.
  • Deliver presentations and information sessions about programs, supports, and career pathways.
  • Conduct follow-ups with prospective students and provide basic program guidance.
  • Support applicants through the initial intake and referral process.
  • Work closely with program staff, employment counsellors, and community partners.
  • Track outreach activities, contacts, and recruitment results.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, social media outreach, and community campaigns.
  • Provide culturally respectful and supportive communication with all prospective students.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, and organizations.
  • Experience working with Indigenous learners, youth, or community programs.
  • Experience in outreach, recruitment, community engagement, or employment services is an asset.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with community partners.
  • Comfortable speaking to groups and representing the organization in public settings.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lived experience or strong connection to Indigenous communities.
  • Post-secondary Degree or combination of education and training in a related field.
  • Experience working in education, training, or employment programs.
