JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
- Location: York Factory First Nation – Winnipeg or Thompson Office
- Salary: Commensurate with qualifications
The Director of Finance will provide overall financial management, reporting, controllership, and strategic financial planning for York Factory First Nation (YFFN). The successful candidate in this role will work to protect and improve the financial integrity of YFFN, coordinating with the Director of Operations to support Chief and Council’s strategic direction.
Education, Training and Skills:
- 5+ years’ work experience in accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and other financial activities are required.
- 5+ years’ work experience supervising and managing teams.
- 3+ years’ formal education and training in finance and accounting.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or Certified Aboriginal Finance Manager (CAFM) preferred but not necessary.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, ACCPAC, etc.).
Working Conditions:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, with occasional evening and weekend work, during budget season, audits, if necessary.
- Minimum one- to two-weeks per month, on-site work required at main York Landing, Manitoba office.
