Position Title: Alliance Coordinator

Reports To: General Manager 

Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000


Summary

The Seal River Watershed Alliance is a dynamic, fast paced, Indigenous-led and run, non-profit, committed to protecting the Seal River Watershed: an expanse of pristine wilderness in Northern Manitoba, the size of Nova Scotia. 

We are looking for an Indigenous leader with proven coordinator skills who wants to join a growing non-profit organization and is ready to make a difference in the world. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the SRWA’s Advisory Committee  
  • Coordinate communications, information management and sharing
  • Coordinate conferences and large meetings
  • Coordinate Alliance purchasing and financial administration
  • Support Alliance work planning and track progress
  • Provide secondary project and budget approvals as needed
  • Manage travel arrangements for the Alliance
  • Manage Alliance internal calendar including Executive Director’s personal calendar
  • Maintain asset inventory (promotional material, equipment)
  • Provide ground support in various Canadian communities for project team
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of materials
  • Assist with deliveries, pick-ups, errands, etc
  • Assist with completing reports (e.g. expense reports, activity reports)
  • Assist with social media and SRWA website, etc.
  • Share your perspectives and insights to identify project issues and assist to solve problems from time to time
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualities & Requirements:

  • Highly organized planner and prioritizer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work at a fast pace.
  • Ambitious and takes initiative.
  • Creative and results driven problem solver.
  • Personal Cell phone.
  • Working full time in the Alliance‘s satellite office in Winnipeg, MB. 
  • Valid Manitoba drivers license.
  • Criminal Record and child abuse registry checks.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Canada, internationally, and to remote communities staying in rustic accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Degree or Diploma in a related field, plus two years of experience in business. A combination of education and experience is acceptable if it relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Preference will be given to candidates from the Alliance Communities with a working knowledge of nonprofit organizations.
