Position Overview:
We are seeking Operations Serviceworkers for temporary work in Selkirk, Manitoba. You will assist in providing a high standard of service to the customer and in representing the Corporation in the Customer Service Centre. Service will be provided in person, via telephone and in writing to customers in a professional, friendly, and caring manner with respect to questions and concerns
about their electrical service. This is a term opportunity with a duration of approximately 6 months.

Responsibilities:
- Provide underground locations on electrical and gas facilities and issue clearances in accordance with Corporate Policy.
- Perform collection activities associated to delinquent accounts.
- Change defective and retest energy meters and maintain related records.
- Perform accurate reading of gas and electric meters including 3 phase demand meters.
- Assist with construction and maintenance of distribution facilities.
- Perform overhead line inspection patrols as required.
- Assist with storm response and assessments as required.
- Perform standby duties as required.
- May be required to provide relief duties for the OSW II.
- May be required to work in other CSC's.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education.
- Line Locating certification and one year of Line Locating experience with demonstrated satisfactory level of competence.
- Working knowledge of MWM, EGIS, and Microsoft Outlook and other computer applications that are required in the operation of the CSC.
- Competent with reading and interpreting plant construction drawings and Manitoba Hydro standards manuals.
- Experience providing a high standard of service to customers.
- Proactively considers safety of self and others.
- Effective communication skills, written and oral.
- Familiar with procedures for "soft dig" methods.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision, initiative, good sense of judgement, and willingness to assume responsibility.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Possess a Manitoba Hydro approved set of personal hand tools.
- Physically capable to perform all duties of the position.
- Familiar with Corporate policies, practices and standards, Safety & Occupational Health Rules, traffic control, WHMIS, and handling and storage of dangerous goods.
- Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- May be required to obtain vehicle operator certification for various classes of equipment.
Note/Comment:
- These positions work either the standard 9-day work cycle or an M3T3 shift at management's discretion.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $27.53-$37.04 Hourly, $52,744.38-$70,968.04 Annually.
