Introduction:
 
The Seniors’ Advocate office is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba and is responsible for identifying, reviewing and analyzing systemic problems affecting seniors in Manitoba and making recommendations for positive change. 

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Senior’s Advocate office, ensuring financial, information technology and administrative support functions, standards and performances are met; allocates resources to meet operation objectives and support requirements.

Qualifications: 
 
Essential Criteria: 
·        Post secondary degree or diploma in business, finance, management, or related field, and demonstrated experience handling complex financial planning, budgeting, reporting, strategic planning, and project management.  An equivalent combination of significant and demonstrated experience, with other relevant education will be considered in lieu of a degree or diploma.

·        Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, and conflict resolution skills, with knowledge of human resource management principles.
·        Strong teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of people on a wide range of tasks. 
·        Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships, including the ability to use diplomacy and navigate complex situations while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace that includes principles of anti-oppression, and truth and reconciliation 
·        Strong written and oral communication skills, with significant experience writing professional communications and documents. 

·        Ability to be proactive and innovative, demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
·        Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP financial management, and other computerized accounting programs. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities, while maintaining composure, effectiveness and flexibility under pressure.

Desired Criteria:
  • Ability to communicate in French.
 
Duties: 
Under the general direction of Seniors’ Advocate, the Administrative Coordinator is an integral part of the leadership team, tasked with all manner of duties to ensure the department meets its administrative and financial requirements, including budget management, forecasting, and commitment management.  The position manages personnel services for the Administration Team, including recruitment, selection, and hiring; establishing workflow requirements; performance and attendance management; onboarding and training; and record keeping. The Administrative Coordinator is the primary contact for all administrative and operational matters.
