Academic: Transportation & Manufacturing
The School of Skilled Trades and Technology delivers a comprehensive range of academic programs designed to support the engineering disciplines and a variety of skilled trade sectors. WHAT YOU WILL DO
As an instructor within the Transportation & Manufacturing, your responsibilities would include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Interpreting Engineering Drawings. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Red Seal Certification as a Journeyperson Welder
- Current or previous Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) qualification
- Extensive experience working as a Welder
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Strong commitment to safety regulations
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Ability to create assessments that allow students to use AI responsibly and effectively while demonstrating mastery of course content
- Proficiency in Trades math

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
- This position is subject to audiometric assessments
- This position may be required to work overtime
- May be required to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
