REQUIRED:           One (1) Full-Time Permanent Family Enhancement Worker
LOCATION:          Winnipeg Sub-Office, 4th Floor, 820 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, MB
 
Under the supervision of the Family Enhancement Coordinator the Family Enhancement Worker 
participates in the development and implementation of a range of goal-oriented preventions to children 
and their families or to children in care.
 
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
  • To accept referrals from intake in order to open and case manage files.
  • Observe, monitor, and record client’s progress and provide regular reports.
  • Participate in case planning, conferences, service planning and implementation of 
               intervention objectives.
  • To teach life management skills such as budgeting, employment, nutrition, meal 
               preparation management, self-care/health, and recreation.
  • To provide supported home visits for children under the Family Enhancement Program to 
               foster healthy relationships by empowering the emotional bond between child/youth and caregiver.
  • To coordinate resources, provide information, suggestions, and strategies to support 
               inclusive family centered, culturally appropriate practices as well as supporting and 
               facilitating transitions to other programs.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree and/or equivalent degree, or comparable combination 
              of education with work experience.
  • Knowledge of social work, child welfare, Manitoba CFS Act and Program Standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computers – specifically the Child and Family Service Information 
              System (CFSIS) and Microsoft.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal Justice Inquiry – Child Welfare Initiative.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

             This position is a unionized position. As such, pay and benefits are governed by 
                                                 the applicable collective agreement.
 
SALARY:   To commensurate with Education and Experience
                       Classification: SP Series
                  Salary Range: 22.16 to 37.15
