Introduction
The Materials Distribution Agency is seeking a Storekeeper 1 to support warehouse operations within the Department of Public Service Delivery. Reporting to the Team Lead, this position is responsible for the timely, efficient, safe, and cost effective acquisition, warehousing, and distribution of materials within the Agency’s warehouse.

Pick, pack, ship, and receive orders, ensuring accuracy and proper condition of goods.
Maintain and rotate stock, and update inventory using warehouse systems (e.g., Dynamics/Great Plains, Y2K).
Label, store, and move materials in the warehouse and temperature-controlled areas (coolers, freezers, and main warehouse).
Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and follow Workplace Safety, WHMIS, and TDG procedures.
Provide courteous service and support efficient, safe, and high quality warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience working in a warehouse environment performing duties related to shipping and receiving, such as picking and packaging orders, rotating stock, putting stock away, and storing goods.
Experience providing excellent customer service and responding to inquiries within a customer focused environment.
Experience providing clerical support, including data entry, file maintenance, basic calculations, and identifying errors.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work with accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong Interpersonal skills.
Desired:
General knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Personal Protective Equipment with the ability to adhere to safe work procedures.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
Must be physically capable of lifting and moving loads weighing up to 66 lbs.
Must have the ability to obtain Power Forklift Certification.
Must have or obtain a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate within the first 6 months of employment.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
