1 FULL TIME POSITION
BACKGROUND:
Island Lake First Nation Family Services was originally established and operated under the auspices of the Awasis Agency of Northern Manitoba on April 30, 1983. On April 21, 1997, Island Lake First Nation Family Services was incorporated as its own agency.
Island Lake First Nations Family Services consists of four communities: Garden Hill First Nation, St. Theresa Point First Nation, Wasagamack First Nation, and Red Sucker Lake First Nation with the total population of well over 10,000 people.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the File Clerk Supervisor, the File Clerk will be responsible to arrange, gather, review all file information as per the agency filing guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist staff members in finding documentation of files.
· Answer and direct emails, phone calls, and in-person communication.
· Creates new files and provides needed information on forms and reports.
· Ensure all files are current, maintained, and up to date.
· Organizes and archives records and documents.
· Record what documents have been borrowed and returned.
· Retrieves files for other departments and personnel.
· Proofreading, photocopying, scanning, and uploading documents.
· Secure and protect the privacy of documents.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Grade 12 Diploma, relevant college, post-secondary, and/or professional certificate.
· Minimum of two years of direct work experience in a file clerk capacity.
· Attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to lift, carry boxes up to 25 pounds.
· Maintain confidentiality, privacy to sensitive information.
· Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and CFSIS system.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Possess a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle.
· Must pass a criminal records check, child abuse registry check and prior contact checks.
SALARY: Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
