Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Organizational Effectiveness Lead, the Employee Engagement and Experience Specialist plays a key role in strengthening enterprise wide understanding of employee perspectives and workplace experiences. The specialist leads the delivery of the organization's employee listening strategy, including the annual engagement survey, pulse surveys, lifecycle surveys, and other listening channels.

The role translates findings into insights and actionable recommendations that inform talent planning, enhance the employee experience, and support organizational effectiveness. The specialist also works closely with employees, leaders, and stakeholder groups to ensure employee voices, needs, and well-being are reflected in how the work environment is shaped, improved, and communicated across the organization.

Responsibilities:
Employee Listening Strategy & Program Execution
  • Lead enterprise-wide listening programs, including engagement, pulse, and lifecycle surveys. 
  • Lead survey design and delivery to produce high quality insights on engagement and the employee experience. 
  • Coordinate survey sequencing, communications, and expectations for sharing and acting on insights. 
  • Design and facilitate qualitative listening channels (e.g., focus groups, interviews, roundtables) to deepen understanding of employee needs.
  • Maintain and enhance listening tools, processes, and standards aligned with organizational effectiveness frameworks. 
  • Assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities to strengthen insight collection and application.

Communications, Storytelling & Stakeholder Support
  • Translate insights into clear, evidence based narratives that support action and decision making.
  • Partner with Communications to align messaging and timing of employee experience insights.
  • Equip HR Business Partners with guidance and tools to support their client groups in understanding and acting on feedback.
  • Serve as a thought partner to leaders, offering actionable interpretations that reinforce a culture of listening and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across People teams and executives to embed engagement and employee experience principles into planning and program design.
  • Partner with Learning & Leadership Development to strengthen leaders' capability to lead with an employee experience and well being lens.
  • Co-create learning resources and toolkits that build leader capability in shaping the employee experience.

Data Analysis & Insight Development
  • Use data driven insights to identify key themes and emerging risks that support strategic decision making.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into actionable recommendations.

Employee Experience Platform
  • Lead implementation of the Employee Experience platform, establishing standards, templates, and guidelines for consistent, high quality listening practices.

Qualifications:
  • Four-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field, and five years of experience in employee engagement, HR programs, employee experience, organizational development, or equivalent experience in market, customer, or user research involving the design, collection, and analysis of feedback data;
    OR
  • Two-year diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field, and seven years of experience in employee engagement, HR programs, employee experience, organizational development, or equivalent experience in market, customer, or user research involving the design, collection, and analysis of feedback data.
  • Change Management Certification an asset (Prosci).
  • Experience developing or leading surveys, listening strategies, or employee experience programs; familiarity with Qualtrics or similar platforms is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, synthesize insights, and communicate findings clearly in writing. 
  • Proven ability to design and facilitate qualitative listening methods (e.g., focus groups, interviews) and translate narrative input into actionable insights. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional projects and work effectively with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience developing programs end-to-end – from ideation and business case development to implementation and evaluation. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel), SharePoint, Teams, and related tools. 
  • Experience working within a Centre of Expertise or similar advisory model is an asset. 
  • High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.

Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $44.75-$61.75 Hourly,  $85,745.40-$118,316.64 Annually.
