Position Overview
The Office Administrator – Operations is responsible for the coordination of office operations and administration, operational services, and facility-related functions to ensure efficiency, safety, and effectiveness across the organization. This role also provides leadership and oversight of maintenance staff, operations and contributes to workplace health and safety through active participation in the Health and Safety Committee. The Office Administrator will act as the primary contact for facilities, maintenance, supplies and equipment and will administer financial support of invoices, and is responsible for all scheduling and coordination.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related field;
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, including supervisory experience;
- Experience working with First Nations organizations and/or education systems is an asset;
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information;
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills;
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting;
- Knowledge of facilities or maintenance coordination;
- Experience with health and safety practices or committees;
- Fluency in a First Nations language is an asset;
- Experience with financial or administrative systems;
- Problem-solving skills; and
- Cultural awareness and respect.
