Introduction
The Pay and Benefits branch is responsible for the operational delivery of the Pay and Benefits Program for the Manitoba government.

Reporting to a Pay and Benefits Manager, the Pay and Benefits Consultant (PBC) works independently, displaying a high degree of initiative and decision-making ability. The PBC provides expert pay and benefits services to a large and diverse client group operating under several collective agreements. The PBC must work under strict deadlines and ensure compliance with government and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience delivering payroll services including processing payroll transactions such as leaves, pay adjustments, appointments, new hires, terminations and records of employment (ROEs).
Experience administering employee benefits plans, including calculating and processing deductions and prepayments.
Proficiency using automated HRIS system for payroll processing, preferably SAP.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll results.
Ability to interpret legislation, policies and collective agreements.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a team environment.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely in a professional manner.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Desired:
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Certification or courses through the National Payroll Institute (NPI).
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French.
