Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Government Services, the Restorative Justice Manager (RJM) will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of Opaskwayak Cree Nation’s Onusawawin Ekweskeet Justice Program. The RJM will oversee team members and operations to ensure efficiency and coordinated responses to program deliverables. The Restorative Justice Manager ensures Restorative Justice principles are embedded in policies, procedures, and culture while supervising staff, managing cases, and building partnerships with stakeholders.
Some Duties Include:
• Leadership & Staffing, which includes supervising, hiring, training, mentoring and evaluating justice approaches, with emphasis on positive team building approaches
• Oversee day-to-day operations, workflows and program procedures to ensure compliance with Opaskwayak Cree Nation’s policies
• Developing, implementing and evaluating Restorative Justice programs
• Develop strategies and facilitate program delivery models that promote dialogue between victims, offenders and the community to promote healing
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure program activities reflect the values, priorities and cultural context of the community
• Strategic Planning, including goal setting, special projects and work plans
• Develop and monitor program budgets and prepare regular financial and program reports
• Working jointly with Justice Coordinator to support preparation and delivery of presentations, workshops and training sessions
• Contribute to strategic direction of the Restorative Justice Department, including participation in community events
• Mentor team members through regular coaching, feedback and performance evaluations
• Create positive team culture that promotes collaboration, professional growth, and
• Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent, and Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Restorative Justice Studies, Social Work, Social Sciences field is preferred (BSW, Indigenous Studies) or related field Counseling Skills Certificate (asset) A minimum of five years leadership and experience with the ability to supervise, mentor and develop staff Experience with developing, implementing and evaluating programs Experience with report writing, budgeting, work plans and strategic planning Experience working in the justice field Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public and staff Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid Class 5 Drivers license
