Introduction
The Training and Standards Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Branch by strengthening the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of branch operations. Positioned within a dynamic regulatory environment, the role supports a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strong alignment with legislative and organizational expectations. The Coordinator serves as a key resource to staff, leadership, partners, and external stakeholders, helping to ensure that branch practices reflect current regulatory requirements, best practices, and safety standards. This position contributes to the branch’s overall integrity and performance by promoting collaboration, maintaining strong professional relationships, and supporting an adaptive, learning¿focused workplace.
Duties:
The Training and Standards Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of branch¿wide training programs and operational standards for Environment Officers. This role ensures staff are properly trained, ensures operational and safety standards are current and consistently applied, and equipment and resource needs are identified and addressed to support safe, effective, and compliant operations.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in the environmental or social sciences, public administration, or other relevant discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with financial management, including managing a budget, procuring resources, and complete projects in a timely manner
- Experience in field inspections with a good understanding of inspection and compliance practices and principles
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, workplace safety and health and legislation and best practices
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or equivalent software.
Desired:
- Experience with Departmental Policy and Operational Guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French is an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Must possess and maintain a valid Full Stage Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout the province with occasional overnight stays as required
- Must be able to work overtime, including evenings and weekends as required
