Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Senior Banking Officer, responsible for a variety of banking related and regular analysis of Treasury systems, reports and processes. Provides backup and support for other key Cash Management positions during staff absences. This is a term opportunity with a duration of approximately 12 months.
Responsibilities:
- Process all Manitoba Hydro and Centra Gas wire payments for vendors and employees and various government payments in accordance with treasury policies, strict payment schedules and bank deadlines using online banking software.
- Update and monitor cash flows in the treasury cash forecast for all wire payments, payroll and intercompany transfers.
- Perform accurate and timely month end processing including SAP journal entries for payments, payroll, bank charges and other miscellaneous journals and reports as required, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Record, process and account for corporate payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including associated third party remittance payments.
- Receive, record and verify the accuracy and safeguarding of all employee and vendor banking information. Update payroll direct deposit information in HRMS from employees and similar information for Accounts Payable payments to employees and external vendors in SAP. Assist employees on all queries of same.
- Review monthly account reconciliations of all Manitoba Hydro and Centra Gas bank accounts to ensure the integrity and completeness of accounts. Assign department staff for follow up on outstanding items and coordinate progress with Corporate Accounting.
- Investigate situations regarding fraudulent activity involving corporate cheques or direct deposit payments. Issue stop payments and initiate replacements for lost or stolen Corporate cheques.
- Download, analyze and post the daily cashed cheque files from CIBC Cash Management Online (CMO) to SAP for Canadian, US, Power Smart* and payroll cheques. Process error sessions in SAP and follow up on all errors generated in reports.
- Ensure proper documentation of Corporate Disbursements processes and procedures on this position are kept up to date.
- In conjunction with the Senior Banking Officer and other Cash Management staff, evaluate the accounting and forecasting systems (Treasura and SAP) and related procedures on an ongoing basis to identify existing and potential problems, as well as opportunities for enhancement.
- Prepare recommendations that ensure the efficient operation of the treasury function.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education plus three years of directly related experience
OR - Grade 12 education plus completion of post-secondary courses related to accounting and business administration plus two years of directly related experience.
- Demonstrated ability and thorough knowledge of computer applications associated with job responsibilities including SAP, MS Outlook, Word & Excel.
- Experience with RBC APIink, Treasura, CIBC/ CMO, BMO On-line Banking for Business, RBC Express, CIBC Scheduler and SAP HRMS application would be an asset.
- Attention to detail and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Exhibit integrity and sound judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Possess high degree of initiative and proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to respond favorably to requests requiring immediate attention within very tight timelines.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $29.20-$38.94 Hourly, $55,954.34-$74,614.54 Annually.
