ABOUT THE TEAM
Facility Management at RRC Polytech is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of campus buildings and infrastructure across multiple sites. The team supports over 2 million square feet of facilities, including academic, research, and support spaces.

The Exchange District Campus presents unique operational requirements, including heritage buildings, complex mechanical systems, and high utilization of instructional spaces. This role supports maintaining these environments to ensure a safe and functional learning and working environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The incumbent will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming campus by performing preventative maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, and architectural building systems. This role includes completing routine inspections and testing of life‑safety systems, responding to service requests and emergency maintenance calls, and working alongside trades staff on repairs, maintenance, and minor installations.

The incumbent will document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and support safe, compliant building operations, contributing to a clean and well‑maintained campus environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 to 3 years of related maintenance experience
- Experience with building systems (mechanical, plumbing, basic carpentry)
- Experience performing preventative maintenance programs
- Commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to perform required duties (lifting, ladders, confined spaces)
- Commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in institutional or post-secondary environments
- Experience with life safety systems testing

- Salary Range for this position: $48,256 - $68,036 per annum
- Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable.
- December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
