Introduction
The Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Maintenance Tradesperson position in Churchill.
Duties:
Reporting to the Supervisor or designate, the incumbent performs painting and painting related maintenance services in Manitoba Housing Rental Units and Facilities.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Journeyperson experience in painting & decorating.
Professional experience in paint and coating application for various interior and exterior surfaces as it applies to residential and commercial buildings.
Professional experience in the preparation of large surfaces for painting & coating, including drywall repair, patching, mudding, taping & sanding.
Professional experience preparing accurate estimates for work orders and materials.
Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act, safety policies, safe work procedures.
Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
Must possess and maintain a valid Full Class 5 Manitoba driver’s licence and access to a vehicle suitable for trade materials.
Valid certificate of qualification as journeyperson Painter and Decorator.
Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position. This includes the ability to use ladders, working at heights, work in confined spaces, work in dusty and extreme heat/cold conditions, lifting up to 80 lbs, kneeling, standing, crawling, sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear PPE to perform the work.
Must be able to travel within Northern Manitoba and occasionally work overtime and weekend work.
