ABOUT THE TEAM
The Food Services Team supports the School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality by producing quality grab‑and‑go meals and providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, and external customers. The team contributes to a welcoming and professional food service environment. Working closely with faculty and Culinary Arts students, the Food Services Team demonstrates a collaborative environment that supports student learning and program goals. Through coordination and teamwork, the team helps ensure quality food production and service delivery while contributing to a positive and respectful campus experience for internal and external customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Cook B reports to the Operations Supervisor and is responsible for the preparation, production, and packaging of food items for the Culinary Exchange, including soups, sauces, vegetables, proteins, and starches. The Cook B is responsible for the proper storage, labeling, packaging, and pricing of food products, including items produced through student food laboratories. Duties include conducting taste and temperature checks and ensuring supplies are ordered, stored, rotated, and maintained in accordance with established inventory and food safety procedures. Additional responsibilities include dishwashing and pot washing, cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment, work areas and maintaining cleanliness of floors and kitchen facilities. The Cook B must comply with all applicable health, safety, and food handling regulations and follow established operational procedures.
PGI is home to the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts and the RRC residence; as such, all support staff are expected to interact in a respectful, professional, and supportive manner with students and the campus community.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field
- Professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
- Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Experience in the safe handling and storage of food and perishable goods
- Experience in the safe utilization of commercial food service equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Food Handlers certificate
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

- Salary Range for this position: $38,958 - $48,880 per annum
- Generous Paid Vacation: Full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
