Position Overview:
Reporting to the Financial Advisory Services Supervisor (AP&D/CFO), this position partners closely with internal stakeholders to provide strategic financial advice and analytical support to advance Divisional, Business Unit, and enterprise-wide objectives. The role contributes professional expertise in operating and capital budget development, financial analysis, and the establishment and monitoring of financial controls to support informed decision-making and sound financial stewardship.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial and accounting advice to management through detailed financial analysis, interpretation of results, and clear communication of financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Analyze, monitor, and report on operating and capital financial performance on an ongoing basis, identifying trends, risks, and variances, and working with management to support the achievement of approved financial targets.
- Prepare, review, and present financial information and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the development, coordination, and consolidation of operating and capital budgets, including forecasting activities and multi-year planning initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain effective financial controls, tools, and reporting frameworks to meet management, corporate, and governance requirements and to support accountability and transparency.
- Review capital approval requests and operational business cases to ensure financial analysis is complete, accurate, and reasonable, that assumptions and risks are appropriately assessed, and that recommendations align with corporate strategy and priorities.
- Prepare specialized financial and management reports related to accounting issues, agreements, and program or project evaluations, including analysis of alternatives and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Principal Duties are intended to reflect the core responsibilities of the position and are not an exhaustive list of all duties or tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- A professional accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or advisory roles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate professionally and credibly with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles, practices, and internal control frameworks.
- Strong ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced working knowledge of financial and reporting systems such as SAP, Business Warehouse, BPS, and C55 is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced expertise in Excel and experience using Power BI or similar analytics and visualization tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team-based environments while also exercising sound judgment and independence.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
- Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $44.75-$61.75 Hourly, $85,745.40-$118,316.64 Annually.
