Nikan Awasisak Agency Inc. is seeking one (1) full time Case Aide for our Winnipeg Sub- office. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.
Under the direction of immediate Supervisor, Case Aide is responsible to work as part of a team in delivering a full range of child and family services utilizing Nikan’s respective unit model of service delivery, with emphasis on prevention and resource services as frontline approach. Provides protection of children by performing duties of Childcare, in accordance with provision of the Child and Family Services Act.
Qualifications:
· Must have a minimum of Grade 12 education or an acceptable equivalent combination of education & training.
· Must have computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs.
· Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
· Preferable to speak and understand our First Nation Language.
· Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in service using a range of goal-oriented interventions.
· Escorts children and/or their parents to or from placements, medical appointments, to and from school and may provide childcare.
· May participate in case planning, conferences or accompany social worker on appointment(s)
· Maintain logs and written reports.
· and community-based supports
· Participating in the Case Worker’s activities as a resource person
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
