Duties:
The Operations Branch is responsible for the delivery of operations and maintenance for the government owned building portfolio encompassing over 400 facilities, including the Legislative Precinct and Memorial Park. The Planning and Program Coordinator/Analyst position is a senior level planning and policy position that provides the coordination and recommended delivery options for events, projects, and related programs across the Province and in particular at the Legislative Building and Precinct.

This position also coordinates sensitive initiatives and special projects for Public Service Delivery (PSD) such as Royal Visits and Protocol Events and acts as Secretary of the Manitoba Legislative Building and Grounds Interpretation Advisory Committee.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Experience working with Senior Government officials planning large, complex, and politically sensitive events.
  • Experience liaising with various organizations, jurisdictions, communities and industry or sector groups to foster collaborations and partnerships.
  • Experience in policy development and issues management, including researching, analyzing and developing comprehensive policy proposals and options.    
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships, fostering collaboration, and achieving consensus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create documents in a clear and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform complex and specialized tasks in a time sensitive environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively plan and make well-informed decisions in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated political acumen with a clear understanding of Government procedures related to public events.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and document tracking software and applications.      
  • Understanding of permit requirements and logistics related to public and media participation at events held at Government facilities.
