Duties:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager or designate, the incumbent is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of pneumatic/electric and Direct Digital Controls for HVAC and refrigeration systems in Manitoba Infrastructure buildings in District 4. The incumbent is responsible for remote and on site monitoring and programming of building DDC systems for facility system performance, energy savings and troubleshooting. Incumbent will also be responsible for on-site training to operating staff in proper readings and adjustment of controls.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Journeyperson electrician licence OR Instrumentation and Control Technician and equivalent controls experience.
  • Extensive experience working with pneumatic/electric and DDC control systems including maintenance, commissioning, repair, installation and programming.
  • Knowledge and experience of plant/building system operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current building codes and safety standards. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience providing onsite training to operating staff in proper operations and use of the DDC system.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's licence or similar from another jurisdiction
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory internal security check and Criminal Record Check 
  • Must have the ability to travel within the district with occasional overnight stays
  • Must be able to work outdoors and overtime, shift work and weekends
  • Must be physically capable of performing the required activities of the position including working in a secure (correctional) environment
