Position Overview:
We're looking for a Project Scheduling Engineer to join our Project Service Department. Under the general direction of the Planning and Scheduling Section head, responsible for working within project teams to develop, monitor, report and analyze on resource loaded comprehensive project schedules, and develop new processes and standards to enhance the scheduling and reporting metrics for the Division.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to develop, prepare, monitor, maintain and analyze schedules, including resourcing, for the department using Primavera scheduling tool.
  • Develop and maintain resource loaded schedules to facilitate resource-specific job planning commitments.
  • Develop and maintain standard & procedures for project schedule to meet project, reporting and divisional requirements.
  • Initiate & lead discussions with project managers, project teams & Contractors to proactively manage project issues, assess deviations to the project schedules, and provide recommendations on how to deal with their impact. Communicate any proposed recovery schedule to project managers.
  • Lead the development of project baselines for progress measurement and earned value collaborate with project managers, project stakeholders (Project owner, design consultant & Contractors), project services sections including financial services, estimating and project controls. 
  • Develop the processes, tools and reports at the division, department, or section level to assist with analyzing the actual and forecast labor requirements; identify when there is a conflict between requested work and available resources and work with staff to resolve the conflict.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in project scheduling including but not limited to scheduling process implementation, progress measurement, project performance tracking, integration with Earned Value Management system, and reporting.
  • Prepare formal reports and technical memorandums.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Planning and scheduling section head.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate in Engineering (any discipline) from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of six years' experience including a minimum of one year of direct project delivery experience.
  • Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time).
  • Working knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Direct experience with the application of Primavera to develop schedules for construction projects is considered an asset.
  • Must have strong software skills in standard Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of SAP to oversee capital budgets is desirable.
  • Ability to plan, organize and control activities of various concurrent work assignments within the area of responsibility.
  • Ability to cooperate with Corporation employees, Consultants, and Suppliers and Contractors at all levels.
  • Possess an appreciation of all aspects of project management and related fields of engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal skill is a critical competency required for this position.
  • May be required to work at project sites throughout the province at times.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence.

Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $48.74-$67.29 Hourly, $93,398.24-$128,947.78 Annually.
